Basement room in terraced family home on quiet road in Meersbrook S8. Has own bathroom, and own basic kitchenette facilities including microwave/electric oven and grill, kettle, toaster, fridge. Shared washing machine. Uses a shared entrance and utility room with rest of the family. About the space: The bedroom has a day bed which can switch between sofa, single bed and double bed. There is a desk, wardrobe and IKEA storage spaces as well as a desk chair and comfy chair. There’s a big TV which we can remove if you prefer, which has access to Netflix or tv via a Roku stick. While the room has its own kitchenette, you are also welcome to use our family kitchen inc slow cooker and gas hobs if you want to do more involved cooking. The basement room is extremely well insulated so tends to stay warm in winter and cool in summer. There is access to a shared garden and patio area which you are welcome to use. There is a cat and a 4 year old in the house so if you are allergic or averse to cats or children, this probably isn’t the place for you! Neither access the bedroom though. As it’s a family home we are up and about from about 7, and go to bed round 11ish so you would need to bear this in mind. About you: We’re all vegetarian or pescatarian so would prefer this, but if you’re not then we can discuss how to make it work. It’s definitely not going to suit a party animal! Mature / post grad students considered and working professionals also. We’d also welcome Mon-Fri stays if you’re interested in that. About the area: There’s a lovely park about 5 minutes away and we’re really well connected into the city centre. There’s a direct bus to Sheff Uni and the Hallamshire hosp that runs every hour. We can negotiate bike storage (we are all keen cyclists). The Peak District is easily accessible also. Parking can be a little limited as its a terraced house street but we don’t have a car so you can take up our “spot”! About us: We’re all pretty friendly and enjoy a balance of time on our own with catching up. We work at the uni and split our time looking after our daughter. We enjoy putting the world to rights possibly over a glass of wine and time spent despairing at the many weeds in our slightly wild but very lovely garden. We have a cat and a 4 year old in the house so almost suitable for anyone with child or pet allergies or aversions! Please be respectful with noise between 11pm-7am and bear in mind we are up and about from about 7 daily so if you are a late sleeper this may disturb you.
