The landlords, Daniel and Erwann, live in this colonial style house with large mahogany doors, 5 meter high ceilings, original tile floors and a nice array of ancient furniture and chandeliers. They rent five bedrooms, each of them with air conditioning and a private bathroom. The guests are more than welcome to enjoy the main living room with its balcony overlooking San Rafael street, the inner patio as well as the rooftop from where one can see the sea. Although it is located in a quiet area it is in the city centre, only 5 minutes away from the Malecon, 10 minutes from the Vedado district and the Hotel Nacional and 15 minutes from the Parque Central and the Old Havana. While visiting Cuba don’t miss the Museo de Arte Cubano, the charming district of the Loma del Angel, the house of Hemingway and the beaches of Playas de l’Este. Viñales and its « Mogotes » valley is also a must and could be a full day excursion.
HOME RULES 1) Keys: upon arrival you will be given a set of 3 keys opening the street door, the flat door and your room door. Any loss or damage of any of these keys will automatically be deducted from your deposit. 2) Air conditioning : the air conditioning is only to be used between 8pm and 8am. 3) Safety: it is extremely dangerous and therefore strictly forbidden to bring any stranger to the flat. Breaking this rule will subject you to immediate expulsion with NO refund from either your stay or deposit. 4) Smoking: we thank you for not smoking in the bedrooms. Smoking is only permitted in the main lounge, on the balcony and in the patio. 5) Noise: in respect of other guests and neighbours we recommend and request no music or noise after 10pm. 6) Cleanliness: upon arrival the flat will be clean and tidy an must be left in the same condition on your departure. No food is allowed in the rooms. Every 3 nights, bedlinen and towels are changed and free of charge housekeeping is provided, for above 4 night stays. We inform you that the towels cannot be taken to the beach or any other place. 7) Damages: no special attention is required just a respectful behaviour is expected. For instance, beware of stains a glass or a bottle could leave on the mahogany furniture. Any damage will automatically be deducted from your deposit. 8) Children safety: the house has steep steps and some non secured areas. Keep in mind this house is a home not a public space. All children should be kept under supervision at all times and is the responsibility of the parents. 9) Payment Method: Please note that we require our guests to pay the booking total to us upon arrival (on top of the 15% deposit paid to Homestay.com) 10) Cancellation Policy: We ask our guests to give us at least 10 days’ notice for any cancellation. 11) There is no light breakfast included in our rates. Breakfast is optional, on request and available for an extra cost of CUC 5 per day per person.
