Fishermans cottage - immaculate!
Sandgate, KentGBP 1,800.00/month
An suite room and facilities in a quirky fishermans cottage, dating back to the 1800's. This hidden gem off the high street in Sandgate is a perfect place to hideaway and find peace and tranquility. If you are looking for a visit to the Kent Coast or a quiet seaside getaway then I am confident that the ensuite room in my artists cottage would meet your needs and requirements for the duration of your visit to Kent. Situated in a central area of Sandgate, the property is located only a a minute walk to both the sea front and high street. There are pops of colour and colourful artist vibes around the beautifully newly painted and restored cottage. You can relax on the patio or watch tv or sit out in the garden on the terrace. Soon there will be a jacuzzi to relax in Presseco in hand (mid Aug 2022). if you like to swim there is a big swimming community in Sandgate and Folkestone, which I feel very much part of. Sandgate beach is beautiful but there is also a few beaches in very close proximity. Mermaid beach being one of them, with the made enclose beach being surrounded by norwegian rocks. Along the way to the mermaid beach you will see the vivid neon recently painted beach huts, bringing the creative vibes to your walk or cycle. There is so much to see and do with so many days out easily located that you could do something different for 2 weeks and still love it here. I love it and to me it is the best place in the world! My cat and I love being here! We are 10 minutes on the bus to the centre of Folkestone and the beautiful area of The Leas. Your room is the beautiful light and bright en-suite room with a wonderful invigorating shower with a huge shower head. Everything is new and looks beautiful and clean. In the kitchen there is a coffee machine, oven, dishwasher and fridge that you can use. My interests are the sea and swimming, national trust and history, art and making things and buddhism. My cats interests are fish and cuddles. People here are friendly and welcoming. Creative folkestone with many works of art and Dover Castle are also very near. Sandgate is attractively located between Folkestone and Hythe, this coastal Kent village of is worth much more than a passing visit. A few minutes’ journey from both towns by car or bus – or an easy seafront walk or cycle ride – you’ll find award winning beaches with long views over the English Channel, the high street is famous for antiques and collectables, a wonderful selection of restaurants – eateries include traditional fish and chips, Mexican, tapas, traditional British restaurants and pub food – and cosy bars as well as small, independent shops. Sandgate village also has a fascinating history which embraces the times of Henry VIII, smugglers, the threat of invasion by Napoleon and vital military roles in two world wars. Social reformers and celebrities of literature and the arts have made their home in the village: from H G Wells to William Wilberforce, Hattie Jacques and many more. The buildings of the village reflect this rich heritage with over one hundred and twenty Grade II listed properties including ancient monuments (Martello Towers), two conservation areas covering a large part of the parish combined with two miles of coast and steep wooded hills to provide a unique environment to visit, live and work in (with London 50 minutes away by train from Folkestone). Train station 20 minutes walk.
