Lotus Pod House

Lotus Pod House was established early 2018 in a lovely Victorian house in Aldershot. Work circumstances led to a move to Woking in March 2021, where I set up in an early 1900's cottage-type town house. Lotus Pod House was established early 2018 in a lovely Victorian house in Aldershot. Work circumstances led to a move to Woking in March 2021, where I set up in an early 1900's cottage-type town house. We have just gone through a major renovation with new kitchen & living area and at present I am gradually finalising the finishing touches with some minor re-decorating and designing it to become as quirky and nice a place as our still much missed home in Aldershot was. We love our new home, and hope you will love it too. Our home is very much a family house that is lived in, and not a showcase, but you will find all the amenities you need within clean facilities. I aim to provide guests a 'home away from home'. For stays under 1 week I will provide a simple (semi-continental) breakfast including coffee & tea during your stay. My place is close to Woking train station and bus stops and ideal for short contract workers in The Woking, Farnborough and Guildford area. You will have access to living room, kitchen and bathroom and are invited to make the place your own. I want you to feel comfortable during your stay and feel at home, as this is essentially a family house. It also means that you will leave the place in a clean and tidy state as you would do at home. You're free to use the kitchen to your hearts content, but please only use wooden/silicone spoons for the non-stick pots and pans. Before you decide to request a booking, Please take note of the house rules section. Other things to note; This is a strictly non-smoking property which includes the garden and front-of-house!Please note that there is a friendly cat in the property named Suki. Please be aware my 2 young children spend on average 2 days per week with me, mostly the weekends. I generally try to avoid booking guests on those weekends, but there may be exceptions, especially during longer stays and school holidays. I will always try to let you know in advance about this but can't foresee last minute events. Finally, I have no TV and therefore no TV license, but if you have a TV license elsewhere in the UK than this will allow you to make use of BBC iPlayer etc.
In order for me to confirm your booking, you have to make your payment in advance in full through bank transfer as soon as possible after booking but at least 18 days prior to your check-in date. This is irrespective and separate to the booking fees that Homestay.com charges you. Cancellation is free with full refund up to 14 days from 08:00 of the first booking day. Cancellation less than 14 days are charged 50% with minimum charge of £50. No refund if cancellation less than 7 days prior to 08:00 of first booking day. For the months July and August however my cancellation policy is respectively 6 and 3 weeks (ie 50% refund between 6 and 3 weeks). My room is also up on other booking platforms, and I will not hold any dates until payment is made. If you are planning longer stays, but are not quite sure about whether my place or location is suitable for you, I would recommend to book for 1 month in first instance and tell me in advance you may want to stay longer, in which case I can agree to reserve dates beyond your initial booking. Once you arrive, you can then decide whether it suits your needs and whether you want to extend your stay or find another place. Check in generally between 19:00 and 20:00 depending on what time I anticipate returning home from work. I can be flexible however, and am always happy to try and work out a solution if you want to check in earlier. Check-out generally 08:30, but again, I am flexible on discussion prior to make arrangements that suit both of us. I would kindly ask to email me a scan/picture of your government ID and proof of address. Smoking is an absolute No-No and this also applies to the garden & front of property. No parties or events Common sense prevails, but generally I would ask to keep the volume down after 22:00 Please ensure to also always close the doors behind you (especially in winter time) and turn off lights when a room is not in use. Kitchen door is the exception because Suki the cat needs to get to her food. Please do not eat in the bedroom for purposes of hygiene etc. In general please leave the place in the same state you find it in. Please note that lost keys will be charged at £80.00 !
