NEW HOUSE RULES 2023 Welcome to our home. You are here as a guest and must be respectful of other people in the house. Please enjoy your time in the house while you are here and feel free to watch TV in the front living room. We have Netflix, Amazon Prime, Satellite TV. You can watch TV in the back living room also if you wish but the family have preference over the TV here. Our home is protected by CCTV for your protection and safety. You are provided with a light breakfast as part of your stay. What you can have will be explained to you when you arrive. Lunch and dinner can be provided to you at an additional cost. (some students have certain meals provided as part of their stay) There is a cupboard and a small section in the top of refrigerator for you to store your own food. You must not take any other food that is not yours. Food must be consumed in the dining room only. When you finish your meals and use kitchen utensils you must clean up after yourself. The cutlery and crockery/Delph must be rinsed before putting them into the dishwasher. If dishwasher is full or in use you must wash and dry the delph, dish cloths are provided for drying delph and cutlery. All items must be put away into cupboards and drawers. You must clean up the table and worktops after finishing your meal. Please leave the kitchen as you would like to find it. You are provided fresh bed linen once a week which you must put on the bed yourself. We will wash your used bed linen. You must keep your bedroom tidy at all times and no eating meals in the bedroom. A vacuum cleaner and dustpan and brush are there for you to keep your room clean. You can do your own laundry once per week, usually the weekend is the best time. Laundry detergent will be provided for you. The clothes dryer can be used to dry your clothes but in summer time the clothes can be put out on the clothes line in the back garden when the weather is good. If we have clothes in the washing machine or dryer you must not remove them. You are allowed to shower once per day for about 8-10 minutes, you must provide your own toiletries. Shower room must be kept clean and dry after use. Whilst you are showering you must leave the window open to allow steam escape and window MUST be closed shortly after. No showering before 7am or after 9.30pm as the shower can be quite noisy and interrupt peoples sleep. Toilet paper must be flushed down the toilet, no toilet paper to be put in the small bin, this bin is for other rubbish like empty bottles, boxes or empty tubes etc. When using hot water in the sink you must put the stopper in the plughole, hot water must not be left running or wasted as there is only a certain amount of hot water available. Please be quiet at night time and morning time as Nathan may still be asleep. If you are talking on your phone to family or friends be respectful of other people and try not to be too loud whilst talking. You should stay in your bedroom or living room if you want to talk on your phone as other people may be watching TV or talking to each other. There is an alarm in the house which must be activated when the last person leaves the house, if you are not sure if you are last to leave the house you can check to see is anyone else in the house, if you are not sure you can set the alarm anyway. The hall door MUST always be locked when you leave and return to the house. Failure to lock the hall door or the bathroom or bedroom window when you leave the house will lead to you being asked to vacate the home. The alarm code will be given to you and must not be shared with any other person. . Your bedroom window MUST be kept closed and secured with handles when you are leaving the house. This is the same for the window in the toilet/shower room, the window must always be locked when you are leaving the house. This also applies to windows in the kitchen and living areas. A key to the front door of the house will be given to you when you arrive. You must have this key on you at all times. If you lose the key, you will be charged €190 for a new lock and new keys for the hall door. There is high speed broadband available to you and the code will be given to you. You must not bring anybody back to the house. If you want to have a friend around you must first get permission. No friends are allowed stay overnight. You must be quiet in the house when other people are sleeping. You are not allowed in other people's rooms or must not be snooping. You are only allowed in your own bedroom, bathroom, living rooms, dining room and kitchen. This list of rules is provided for your benefit and benefit of everyone in the house. These rules are likely to be changed or updated from time to time. You will be given a new set of rules when they are changed or updated. If you have any questions about the rules feel free to ask me and I will help you. We wish to make your stay here as comfortable as possible as this your home away from home. Enjoy your stay in our home. We hope you all have a great stay in our home. Any Payment for any stays up to 4 weeks/1 month must be paid upon arrival. After first month's payment, arrangements for payment for stays longer than 4 weeks /1 month will be discussed and agreed upon arrival. If paid in full with a discounted rate agreed amongst both parties there are no refunds due to agreement being made.
