I. Safety & Privacy No Overnight Guests: To ensure the safety and privacy of all residents, bringing any outsiders (including friends or classmates) into the homestay for overnight stays is strictly prohibited. In special circumstances (e.g., family visits), prior discussion and explicit permission from the host must be obtained. Door Security: Please always lock the door when entering or exiting. The last person returning home at night is responsible for ensuring the main door is securely locked. Duplication of keys is not permitted without prior consent. Personal Belongings: Please take good care of your valuables and cash. The homestay assumes no responsibility for the loss or damage of personal items. II. Smoking, Alcohol & Drugs Strict No-Smoking Policy: To maintain air quality and comply with house insurance policies, smoking is strictly prohibited throughout the entire interior, including your bedroom and bathroom. Smoking is only allowed in designated outdoor areas, and cigarette butts must be disposed of properly. Alcohol Rules: If you are of legal drinking age in BC (19+), you may consume alcohol in moderation. However, excessive drinking or alcohol abuse in your room is strictly forbidden. Providing alcohol to minors is prohibited. Zero Tolerance for Drugs: The possession or use of any illegal drugs or prohibited substances is strictly forbidden anywhere on the property. III. Socializing & Noise No Parties: Hosting parties or large gatherings inside the house or in the backyard is strictly prohibited. Visitor Policy: Generally, visitors are not allowed. In exceptional cases (e.g., group study sessions), advance permission from the host is required, and visitors must leave by the agreed time (usually before 9:00 PM). Quiet Hours: Please respect the household’s rest time. Sunday to Thursday: Keep noise to a minimum between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. Friday & Saturday: Keep noise to a minimum after 11:00 PM. Avoid loud conversations, music, or other disturbances during these hours. Always control the volume of your devices, including phones, computers, and headphones.
