Wes & Aimee's Peaceful Home
Chula VistaUSD 1,300.00/month
Welcome to our homestay! Our family loves to travel and host international guests. Our two adult kids live in San Diego. We are new grandparents! Wes is a pastor at a local church and a police chaplain. We both work at Chick-fil-A in Chula Vista. We love interacting with our homestay guests. If you are here to learn English, great! We watch TV with subtitles. Please join us. Our 5-bedroom 3-bath spacious home was recently remodeled, so all the carpet is new, the kitchen is upgraded, the back patio is renovated, and we added a huge family room. Our dining room table seats 14, and we love to host special events. Our family loves to play games. We'll teach you a few new ones :-) We provide light breakfast foods, and you are responsible for your lunch, dinner, and snacks. Aimee makes homemade healthy granola, crunchy sourdough bread, and tasty banana bread almost weekly to share. We have an extra refrigerator in the garage that you will share with other homestay guests, and our kitchen is always available for you to cook for yourself. We have a lovely backyard garden patio where we eat meals and relax when the weather is warm. My son and his husband have been working on creating a beautiful succulent/cactus garden in the backyard. You can enjoy the view from Aimee’s recently built She Shed made from old doors. It’s really “adoorable”! You will find our home quiet and peaceful, yet full of energy with friends and family who like to visit. There is a gym just 2 miles away that costs about $25 per month - Crunch Gym - plus a popular running path near our house around the Bonita Golf Course. The public bus is a 10-minute walk, and the bus takes you to the trolley and into Downtown San Diego (centre city), Old Towne, Mission Valley, East County, and now La Jolla. Citrus trees that produce fresh fruit all year are scattered around our yard. You will enjoy fresh oranges, lemons, limes, and grapefruit plus four berry vines--boysenberries, raspberries, blueberries, and blackberries in the summer. Our avocado and pomegranate trees are finally growing fruit. We recently planted a plum tree and a nectarine tree. There is a reason San Diego is called America's Finest City, and showing off this fine city is something we do with our homestay guests. We have kayaks and love the ocean and San Diego Bay. Hiking is one of our favorite things to do in and around San Diego. You can join us anytime for a hike or kayak trip. We don't have any pets, nor do we accept any homestay guests with pets, even though we know they are part of your family. Both of our adult kids have dogs, and they come to visit on occasion. Please reach out and ask us any questions you may have about our homestay, our family, or our fine city. We have completed a background check and have a “clear status” from the Government Watch List search, the DOJ search, and the CA-San Diego County criminal search. We get many requests to stay in our home. If you book a few months in advance, we might ask you for a $300 non-refundable deposit to hold the room. When you show up for your scheduled homestay, we will take that amount off of your rent. It would be our joy and delight to have you stay with us. Wes and Aimee Anderson
The rules are simple. Since your bathroom is a shared bathroom plus the guest bathroom for our friends to use when they visit, we require you to keep that clean and picked up daily. You have access to the kitchen and please clean up immediately. You are responsible for your own food. We all share one washer and dryer, so be courteous. Your friends are allowed to visit but not spend the night. No drugs are allowed, including marijuana. The most important “rule” is that you immediately let us know if something is bothering you. We want your homestay experience to be the best it possibly can be, not only for you but for all of us living in the same house together :-)
